In this post, we share our 2024 performance review and HSE market insight from HSE Market Ghana, a marketplace dedicated to health, safety, and environment in Ghana, and to thank our team, vendors, buyers, and members of our community for how far we have come.

In 2024, we began by engaging a team to expand our platforms and propel our business solutions. Just like every life journey, we faced our fair share of challenges, but with support from all of you, we were able to stay on course to pursue our vision of making workplaces in Ghana safer.

2024 Performance Review and HSE Market Insight

So these were the highlights of 2024:

Our B2B HSE Online Marketplace achieved these staggering results, thanks to our team, vendors, and customers.

🔘 122 unique orders from our shop
🔘 2,002 quantities ordered
🔘 GHC 353,039.36 net sales

Our B2B WhatsApp community saw a high engagement and participation rate from buyers and vendors—thanks to our members who chose not to exit.
🔘 360+ members in our community
🔘 A lot of offline sales were made by vendors who had not yet created their stores, proving the sales potential of our WhatsApp community alone.

Our website saw significant growth in traffic, bringing more attention to vendors’ products.
🔘 18,500 unique visitors in 2024
🔘 788,000 impressions on products.

Checking our traffic count by country, we could see that Ghana accounted for about 90% of the traffic demographics. This represents safety professionals, procurement professionals, and businesses who are passionate about safety and have purchase intent for vendor’s products.

From the above, Ghana pulled 15,605 clicks and 516,280 impressions from Google out of 18,500 clicks and 788,000 impressions. It is important to note that these clicks and impressions on products listed on our marketplace are part of our top-level sales funnel, which creates awareness and interests leading to leads for the vendors.

Another interesting trend is that the majority of the clicks come from audiences who use mobile, making it advantageous for our new feature, which allows buyers to reach vendors on WhatsApp.

Now let’s take a deep dive into the analytics of product listings that appear on Google, showing just a snippet for you all to extrapolate.

From the reports, we can see that we are capturing about 1,000 queries from Google based on the products listed, and each product almost gets the same number of clicks even though impressions may vary, implying that when you list your products and we optimize for SEO, Google will definitely bring the clicks to your product page to result in inquiries and potential sales.

The Challenges in 2024

But we did face a lot of challenges, which gave us the opportunity to improve our business model, especially in the area of ordering on WhatsApp and the importance of KYC verification for vendors who join our WhatsApp community.

🔘 Our web hosting started getting 500 server errors due to content overload.
🔘 We did a lot of admin work connecting vendors and buyers.
🔘 Some customers complained about some vendors in our WhatsApp community we didn’t know
🔘 We also observed vendors did not take their orders and leads seriously due to zero cost per lead to them.
🔘 We had little cash flow and eventually had to downsize our staff.
🔘 We also got a lot of quote requests from companies, with most vendors not able to take advantage, showing a yet untapped goods market.

Our Focus for 2025

Here is to a new beginning this 2025:

✅ Order on WhatsApp to connect buyers to vendors directly is fully active.
✅ We shall implement a FULLY PAID membership system for vendors.
✅ We shall remove all vendors who don’t subscribe to join our membership.
✅ We shall uphold trust and credibility through a strict KYC verification process.
✅ We shall migrate onto a VPS server to accommodate more content and increase website traffic.
